Lol, love the “Warning Dinosaurs” sign. let me take a guess at the prnounciation of your name: “Sev-er-in De’ Wild” ?

the_living_god • 25 Oct 2006 @ 12:08 GMT

Heh, nice attempt, but no.

Unfortunatly, the English language lacks a couple of sounds to pronounce it.

The first “e” would be like the “e” from Lehr, some German word(I think). the second “e” is covered by English: it’s the same “e” as in “the”. The “ij” is nonexistant in English. In German, it would be coomparable to the “ei” from the word “einen”.

“De” is like “the”, only with a more air in “th”. “Wilde” is like the Wilde of Oscar, except that the “i” comes from the “i” in Kim, also, it ends in the ealier “de”, so it’s more pronounced.

severijn • 25 Oct 2006 @ 22:02 GMT

Well, actually, I was wrong. The “ij” can be found in the English word “apartheid”, in the “ei”.
