The Company of Heroes version 1.3 patch is now available.
The patch will auto-download when you next connect to Relic Online, but you may be able to get it faster via one of the alternative download locations, including a bittorrent mirror.
Patch discussions can go in this thread, and please note that there’s a rather large bug with tank traps in 1.3 - read this thread for more information. 1.4 should be coming soon to correct this bug (and other issues).
As a side note, the 1.3 patch includes the mod tools, for which some new documentation is available on the new official Relic Mod Wiki.

I know of tank trap issue, and i also know u guys at relic are working hard, so im going to say this in a repectful way. There are still many issues other then tank traps, like the fact thay when i win i do not get credit but of course every time i lose that shows up:( servers are still crashing people droping:( A + is panthers are good now:) and alot of of other things ure team at relic has done are also very good. as for me i like this game very much, i just wish instead of this being a decent semi balanced game, if those issues get fixed and balance worked on better it will be a great game. So in end keep up the good work and im confident use will get it right i just hope sooner rather then later cause alot of people are getting upset, including me.

Or, OR, you could ask technical assistance, because most likely there’s a very easy solution to your problem. Like your registry not containing a valid path to your game folder, for example.

That was a low blow. How come no one else have a problem with it? Ever thought that your computer or perhaps YOU are doing anything wrong? It worked perfectly for me and all my friends. Relic is one of few companies that really make a really good job with their products.

I got same problem it cant find game i believe its because its not on the standard C drive its on another but it has kept me from it for a while

no its not just him, i too am having a problem with it, have tried dling the patch from going to the multiplayer screen and i have the patch downloaded on my desktop and both times it tells me to check to see if the game is installed on my pc… also where do i find a map maker does anyone know?

I have also heard tht ther is a COH game coming out in september, opposing fronts, sounds good and dont dis COH cos its a class game, I just need the internet on my gaming PC then it’ll be even better.

I’m also having trouble patching the game, and I agree that its probably to do with the registry not pointing at the install path properly. Could someone please post an example of the correct registry patch here so I can just pop it into my registry? Cheers. If you don’t know what I mean, nevermind :P

I am having trouble opening the folder for the map maker, it just shows a blank screen for a second or two, and suddenly closes.

This is true or so I have been told, although its supposed to be an entirely new game. Company Of Heroes: Opposing Fronts. The game introduces the German Panzer Elite as well as the British Expeditionary Force. For more info…

MY patch is done and i got OF but i can’t play single player so instead it says make an account. i lost my cd key but i still want to play single player cos my game is installed

I TOO… went through the NIGHTMARISH oredeal of instaling CoH purchased through Direct2Drive. After 4 wasted days, which I will never get back, I truly enjoy the game. Now, I assumed my problems were isolated. I recommended the game to a friend. I can’t help him, because his install problems are completely different than mine. WHY AREN’T these issues addressed in a RELIC Tech support rahter than a Bulletin board? Great Game, but WAY TOO much trouble. P.S.: Having to be online even to play single player - that’s really lame.

me i have a big problem
when i get on CoH opposing if i just click something like multaplayer the game just crach every time
So i need to reboot my cumputer
i will never play that game any more

This patch is over a year old, what are you trying to apply it to? CoH is currently at version 2.300.

I’m not sure what the problem is - I just know that I was playing this game fine before the patch. Now I can’t even play offline. It asks me to install the patch everytime I open the game and after download of it = then crashes. What could this problem attributed to ? Oh, and also you might have known when playing with americans. Send and MG team into a building and when they are just about to enter quickly send them into another near building and you will have 2 of them until one of them is commanded to exit - you will have one again. have seen this many times lol - i use it to my advantage lol. Am I being silly or do you absolutely HAVE to patch the game even if you havr no intention of playing online? ‘Cos, if so, I’m inclined to agree with what’s his face?…”MAd Purchaser”
as I have same problem as him. Most likely corupt download with, seemingly, no way of re-downloading.
And another this, why can’t you condense all of the previous patches into one like BFME instead of having me sat here installing one afer the other until eventually, one fails to install and that’s the end?

As for relic being a great game publisher? Come on, the guys barely playtest anything which is why there are always so many balance issues in every THQ/Relic game. Specific to COH, I purchased this game from Wxx-Mart and when I try to install it says my cd key is invalid. THQ says i have to buy a replacement game. WTF? Really? I usually download full games illegally and if i like them I buy them, so when i legally purchase this game it f’s up and I’m just out $25? Real cool. Guess you could say it’s karma, but i do delete games I don’t like and dont copy games for other people. So I decide to use a cd key from online somewhere, works fine. So i am illegally playing a game i legally bought, thats how f’ed up this company is.

I bought both Company of Heroes & COH Opposing Forces in a games pack. After trying endless patches to get opposing forces to work (kept getting the Unable to verify media..)
Finally found a patch the would recognise my install & managed to be able play the game.
When on line & loading game, kept getting message “patch to applied before able to play online..” So ok I’ll download, does not matter what time of day or night I try, after about 2 megs I get the error message “Download failed - Try again later”.
Never, ever have I had to go to so much trouble in installation of a game, sure I’ve had to apply a patches to fix a problem or because I’m running a newer O/S.
COH, not just unprofessional but a JOKE.
So THQ, in future I’m going vote with my wallet.

This POS is pissing me off. I play COH Single Player ONLY. I had to re-install last night. I already had all of the patches, which have worked for me in the past. NOW when the game starts it automatically goes to an ONLINE game!!? I am not playing Online. This is new to me! And it says I have to download a Patch to Play Online, which I do not want to Play. Have I said I want to Play Single Player only? But I CAN’T! Because this stupid POS now says I have to download an new patch, or login online. So, I spent 2 hours installing last night, and after trying to run the game it kept saying I must download another patch, and restart. Repeat, Rinse, and Restart another patch. I finally gave up! The game won’t let me play it…

Now that I am reading all these complaints, and I am having same trouble with COH, I am boycotting this game and ask everybody who is reading this, DO NOT BUY COH until THQ solves this annoying patch-problem! THQ should make the customer, who gives his money for this game, choose for themselves if they want to play SINGLE or Multiplayer and NOT forcing people to register online!

God it’s annoying. Same problem as above. This is my third evening trying to play the game, yet patch problems… installing one after another…. I just want to play the damn game…. not go online battles GRRR

I just sold COH. Bought C&C Tiberium Wars instead. Better game, you can choose if u want to play single player or not. More fun anyway. To hell with COH!
